Ricky Workman Selected for Solo Exhibition at Red Bluff Art Gallery

We are pleased to announce that Ricky Workman, NPPE Mentor Graduate, has been selected for an online solo exhibition at the Red Bluff Art Gallery in Corning, California.

This exhibition was curated around the theme “Vibrance,” and Ricky’s landscape work — drawn from his Namibia, Lake Superior, and American Southwest collections — was chosen for its distinctive interpretation of that concept. You can view the exhibition here:

Red Bluff Art Gallery is part of a growing movement of serious digital galleries in the United States and Europe that offer thoughtfully curated, professionally presented online exhibitions. Their format closely mirrors the experience of a brick-and-mortar gallery, providing artists with meaningful exposure to collectors and curators alike.

Phil Dylan, Senior Curator and General Manager of the Gallery, commented:

“Ricky Workman’s Art Photography was selected for an online Solo Exhibit… The quality of photography is always our first criterion… His work demonstrates going outside the box to find adventure and tell a story… The work in this exhibit is also very personal, and Ricky shares his unique ability to capture the essence of a location in such a way as to bring beauty to the eye of the beholder.”

Interpreting “Vibrance”

What distinguishes Ricky’s contribution to this exhibition is his disciplined approach to vibrance.

In his thunderstorm image from New Mexico, vibrance appears as atmospheric energy. A towering storm releases sheets of rain against a horizon ablaze in molten reds and oranges. The composition balances drama with control — darkened ridgelines anchor the scene while the sky carries the emotional charge.

In the Namibia landscape, vibrance is tonal and sculptural. The desert glows in amber light, suspended in a veil of dust and atmosphere. Rather than relying on saturation alone, Ricky uses light and layering to create a sense of living warmth across the terrain.

In his Lake Superior rock pool image, vibrance becomes intimate. Golden stones beneath crystalline water radiate against cool granite forms. Here, the energy of the image lies in clarity, reflection, and the quiet geometry of the natural world.

Together, these works demonstrate that vibrance is not excess — it is presence, intention, and the disciplined orchestration of color, light, and form.

A Year of Momentum

Over the past twelve months, Ricky’s work has been invited into 59 shows and exhibitions, with 129 individual artworks accepted across art magazines, online exhibitions, and brick-and-mortar galleries. Of these, 8 exhibitions have taken place in physical gallery spaces, representing 14 exhibited works. In addition, five artworks have been published internationally — three in Novum Artis, one in Monochromica, and one in Photographique. This level of consistent recognition reflects not only quality, but persistence, thoughtful curation, and a developing artistic voice that continues to resonate with jurors and curators.

For us at NPPE, this exhibition represents something more than a single achievement. It reflects the long-view commitment required to build a body of work, respond to calls thoughtfully, and position oneself within the broader art community.

We invite you to explore Ricky’s solo exhibition and experience his interpretation of vibrance — refined, intentional, and grounded in adventure.
