In the Field
National Park Photography Expedition’s Masterclasses and First Horizon Workshops teach an end-to-end workflow for creating landscapes and related images. In the field, our instructors emphasize work-the-camera and work-the-scene techniques to create compelling compositions. Each class is an adventure, and we blend iconic front and backcountry locations with research and years of rich experience to position our photographers for optimum light and visual positions. We provide all back-country transportation for safe wilderness expeditions, which means you will enjoy a carefree experience that lets you focus on your creativity.
In the Classroom
In the class conference room, you will learn Creative Segmentation, a foolproof end-to-end post-production workflow, with an instructor by your side to develop raw images. We cover landscape luminosity, color techniques, color grading, tone principles, insights into landscape themes, and how to create images that are s ‘vision beyond the lens.’
At Home
Upon your return home, you will receive 3 hours of additional online post-production training via Zoom. This one-on-one program will help you complete selected images from the field and expand your post-production skills.
Instructor Qualifications
Our instructors are hands-on photography teachers who have earned significant publishing credits and gallery exhibits. They will guide you with professional camera moves, visualization, and our famous work-the-camera, work-the-scene field process to capture images that speak to you and others. In your postproduction sessions, including your follow-up sessions at home, you receive one-on-one attention from experienced instructors who are patient and dedicated to your creative success.
